Forget what seems possible or impossible. What’s the craziest thing you want to do before you die?
Shoot hoops with Obama?
Crash a party at the Playboy Mansion?
Be on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine?
Throw the first pitch at a MLB game?
Go to space?
Just talk to the guys from The Buried Life, 4 guys who started with a 100 crazy bucket list goals and a 2 week road trip to cross a couple items off. That turned into a 5 year (and counting) “movement” of doing unbelievable things, starring in their own TV show, and most recently publishing a #1 NY Times Best-seller, both of which are items on the list. They were also just featured in an article on Tim Ferriss’s blog giving some awesome goal setting advice, so I thought I’d share.
Goal Setting Advice from a guy who has accomplished some crazy goals:
1. Stop and think about it. Really think about it.
-What do you really want to do? Think beyond what is expected of you, think of what is important to you.
2. Write it down.
-Dreams have a funny way of staying dreams, but when you write them down, they become more of a project, something that is real.
3. Talk about it.
-Tell as many people as you know, passionately. You never know who’s listening that might help out.
4. Be persistent.
-No just means be more creative, be different.
5. Be ballsy.
-This is my favorite one. Go after your craziest dreams and goals, and until you reach them, never give up.
6. Help others.
-What happened to the guys from the Buried Life happened because they had pure intentions.
